Tour Medical Insurance

For an additional $250 USD fee per traveler, Transcendent Travel can arrange travel medical insurance for the duration of your tour. Travel medical insurance is highly recommended.

For most travelers under age 80, the coverage currently includes principal benefits such as:

• Medical Coverage: up to $100,000 USD for travelers under age 80
• Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D): $20,000 USD for travelers age 19 and over; $5,000 USD for travelers under age 19
• Emergency Medical Evacuation/Repatriation: up to $500,000 USD
• Emergency Medical Reunion: up to $2,000 USD
• Return of Mortal Remains: up to $50,000 USD

Important: this insurance does not provide trip cancellation coverage. It will not reimburse your tour payments, deposits, airfare, or other cancellation-related costs if you cancel your participation in a tour.

Coverage varies in certain circumstances. Travelers age 80 and over are arranged on a different policy and should contact Transcendent Travel directly to review the coverage that would apply. Residents of New York and Washington are offered state-specific coverage due to state insurance rules; when arranged through Transcendent, that coverage includes similar medical and emergency-related benefits as set forth in the applicable policy/certificate, but does not include trip cancellation coverage. Any trip interruption benefit, if applicable, is limited and governed by the applicable policy/certificate.

Pre-existing medical conditions are generally excluded, except as specifically provided in the applicable policy/certificate. Travelers with significant medical conditions should review the policy/certificate carefully and may wish to consult their own insurance broker regarding supplemental coverage.

The purchase of travel medical insurance is optional, but highly recommended. Should you choose not to purchase insurance, any fees or costs that otherwise would have been covered by insurance are the responsibility of the individual traveler. Transcendent Travel is not liable for any charges not covered by an insurance policy.

Benefit amounts, policy terms, exclusions, and available coverage may change from time-to-time and are subject to the applicable policy/certificate. If there is any difference between this summary and the applicable policy/certificate, the policy/certificate controls. Full insurance details will be provided with the tour participant agreement, and policy documents are available upon request.
